I am aware of the difference between Gmail's labels vs. Outlook's folders, but I would expect that Gmail does what is necessary to make the folders appear correct over the IMAP connection to Outlook. For example, if I drag a message from Outlook's All Mail folder to Trash, I see that message disappear from the Inbox folder after a short delay. Hence, the trashing of messages is registering on Gmail. It's just that the contents seem completely disconnected from what I see using webmail.
Why IMAP Folder is Not Properly Syncing?
While these solutions work, there is are chance that it will happen again. To avoid that, you have to take some precautionary steps. Subscribing to a folder makes it appear in the Folder Pane, but one might not always want [how to fix Outlook not opening today](https://educhoice.co.uk/user/profile/55921) a folder to be synced automatically if it is mainly an archive folder or one that seldom receives new mail. This limits the amount of network traffic and improves performance for syncing important folders. You should look at your Outlook desktop client settings to review the default synchronization schedule and tweak anything you can to get it to poll Google's IMAP servers more frequently. I access the IMAP servers from 3 different machines, and they all see the changes from each other.
Chosen Solution
I work in a small company and for the past 2 weeks we've been having issues with customer support Outlook account. The account is used as IMAP in all customer support clients, every time you set up the mail in anyones computer [FixTechGuide login issue guide](https://phoebe.roshka.com/gitlab/roslynsage4332) it just sync 30-50GB ost files... And because of the size, this is making the mail simply stop working after one day of normal use, forcing the users to end outlook process to make the mail sync again properly... But only when you close/open the mail again.
IMAP folder sync issue in the new Outlook (moved emails not syncing to webmail)
When you synchronize mail using IMAP between Gmail and a desktop mail client such as Outlook, there is a necessary delay between changes made independently at both ends being synchronized in both directions. When you are accessing Gmail via the web application everything is hosted on Google's cloud servers. So it must be something in IMAP protocol handling on the old server that makes the iOS Mail app go out of sync or crash the syncing mechanism on the iOS device. Maybe some encoding behavior or just a different linefeed or something that has changed over the years... Otherwise why even have the ability to auto-sync? If I need to click on each folder to force the sync/download from server then auto sync serves no purpose.
If you can, turn off IMAP, require 2FA, and use the native outlook client. This anomaly also occurs when using the hosting system (first type), using different names for inbound and outbound servers.I also noticed that some IMAP settings — like the root folder path (e.g. "INBOX") — are not available in the new Outlook, which makes troubleshooting more difficult.I would suggest that frequent changes to folder contents on multiple devices will make it go wrong.Subscribing to a folder makes it appear in the Folder Pane, but one might not always want a folder to be synced automatically if it is mainly an archive folder or one that seldom receives new mail.Ive never heard of setting a path before for email, so apologies if this is a simple solution to those who come across this in the future.Simply enter your email address OR username in order to reset your password.
My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update
The problem is that the some changes are not reflected in the Gmail web app. By [FixTechGuide support for Office 365](https://gitlab.mpeeo.com:443/ydqliliana1723) web app, I mean webmail accessed via Firefox or Chrome for (say) Windows 10, not smartphone app. To set up a mail account, we can set the same standard name "mail.mydomain.com" as the incoming and outgoing mail server. My comment about 3rd party email -- is a 3rd email app called Email - Edison Mail (from the App Store) I set up my mail accounts in the app and everything works as it should. Ive tried repairing the data file, removing and re-adding the account, rebooting, re-installing Outlook/Office, running SFC/DISM, all to no avail.
Wonder if the vpn is causing an issue. Perhaps something in TB needs to be tweaked. I have no firewall monitors running during the day that would interfere just the vpn. I have several email accounts / IMAP set-up. So looking at my tree of email accounts one inbox might have 10 mail total and 3 unread form earlier.
